What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is all about learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, with open-minded curiosity and acceptance. Rather than worrying about what has happened or might happen, it trains us to respond skillfully to whatever is happening right now, be that good or bad.
Why should young people learn to practice mindfulness?
The .b Mindfulness programme is an evidence-based programme used in schools around the world to promote positive youth mental health. It has the following proven benefits:
-Students feel calmer, happier and more fulfilled
-Students get on better with others
-Students have better concentration and an improved ability to learn
-Students cope better with stress and anxiety including exam stress
-Students perform better in extra-curricular activities including music and sport
